  1. Once again i2P ‘boldly goes where others fear to tread.’ Thank you for airing this story.

Just a few points: (1) Wakefield has often stated that he is not anti-vaccine, but he is concerned about vaccine safety. (2) The findings in his ‘discredited’ paper have been replicated in Canada, the US, Venezuela and Italy, but all we ever hear is that no one else has been able to replicate them. (3) Wakefield’s co-author and co-accused, Dr John Walker-Smith, was completely exonerated of all charges and had his license reinstated when the High Court of Justice found that the GMC’s conclusions were “based on inadequate and superficial reasoning.” Walker-Smith’s professional insurance covered his appeal, but Wakefield’s did not, and Wakefield couldn’t afford to pay for the appeal himself. So to this day he is continually and unfairly vilified by pro-vaccine lobbyists at every opportunity.
