NPS MedicineWise today announced that Be Medicinewise Week 2014 will be held from 13-19 October.
Be Medicinewise Week is an annual national awareness week that promotes safer and better use of medicines to all Australians. This year is the fourth anniversary of Be MedicineWise Week.
This year’s overarching theme is medication safety: ‘Are your medicines helping or hindering?’.
Throughout the week there will be a daily focus on a topic related to medication safety, including:
- painkillers and analgesia
- complementary medicines
- adverse medicines events, interactions and inadvertent medicines misuse
- medicines safety in hazardous environments (such as driving, heavy machinery and the workplace); and
- medicines safety in the home environment.
Further information on Be Medicinewise Week can be found over the coming month at www.nps.org.au.
