NMS 2016: final days to submit abstracts

Abstract submissions for the National Medicines Symposium (NMS) 2016—hosted by NPS MedicineWise in Canberra in May—are closing this Monday 29th February.

NPS MedicineWise spokesperson and chair of the NMS Program Committee Dr Robyn Lindner says there are new opportunities to be more actively involved this year, giving delegates the opportunity to be an integral part of the NMS 2016 program.

“This year individuals, groups and organisations are warmly invited to submit abstracts for workshops and panel discussions, as well as lightning talks and posters.

”We’re seeking creative and innovative submissions that clearly align with one of the three symposium streams,” says Dr Lindner.

The NMS 2016 streams are:

*  Foundations: exploring issues relating to evidence, knowledge, access, quality, and safety

*  Sustainable systems: considering aspects like policy, regulatory, workforce and cost

*  In practice: examining topics like models of care, health literacy and enabling best practice.

The theme for NMS 2016 is Making wise decisions about medicines, medical tests and technologies: co-designing policy, practice and priorities and will look at current and future challenges affecting the health sector.

“This year’s NMS will bring together some of the most influential organisations, individuals and decision makers in the health sector to debate and discuss quality use of medicines, medical tests and medical technologies,” says Dr Lindner.

“It is a unique cross-disciplinary event that is not to be missed. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of this leading industry symposium.”

Abstract submissions can be up to 300 words and will be peer-reviewed and assessed for inclusion in the program.
