15 Reasons to Date a Pharmacist

Trawling the Internet recently we came across the global dating site eHarmony promoting pharmacists as great life partners.
Intrigued as to whether they were “fair-dinkum” we visited the site to see what they were saying and genuinely surprised when we realised that they were not being frivolous.
As we discussed the implications of this material (printed in full below) someone humorously suggested that this would fit neatly into the current “Ask” campaign being promoted by the PGA.
What a great way to reach into GenX and GenY and maybe other demographics!

“Ask your Pharmacist for a Date” sounds attention grabbing for me and the 15 points listed I can live with (except maybe for the salary bit).
And I am seriously suggesting that this would be a good promotion that could neatly slot into the PGA advertising campaign as an “out of the box” exercise.

“Find out if your local pharmacist is available – visit for a date to discuss your health.
Maybe it could even be further extended if the PGA formed some sort of mutual promotion alliance to explore the concept jointly with eHarmony?
It gives the concept of “patient engagement” a new twist.
So if you see someone trying to attract your attention and be engaging, leave the pile of undispensed prescriptions immediately, because that person may need your professional help that may just extend to relationship help.
Maybe the phrase “Trust me….I’m a pharmacist”, has real meaning given that various polls on integrity etc. show pharmacists as consistently outvoting doctors.
“Trust me, I’m a doctor” is generally used as part of a joke when it is made reference to.

At any rate, the eHarmony material is certainly an unbiased opinion of pharmacists prepared by their experienced relationship staff. So pick up on this and make your day- It’s great for building self esteem.
Even that “little old lady” waiting patiently to see you professionally may have you in mind for one of her grandchildren.
There is a link at the foot of the page if you want to suggest additional reasons to eHarmony staff.

“The next time you’re picking up a prescription, don’t be afraid to make some intentional eye contact with the cute pharmacist behind the counter.
